One view suggests that slow-growing economies worldwide, increase in fuel efficiency, and developing technology in alternative fuels will keep future demand low and therefore, the peak in worldwide oil consumption may already have been reached, especially in the developed world. Golf Tournament

DALLAS GEOLOGICAL/GEOPHYSICAL SOCIETIES’ 34th ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT ONLY ONE FLIGHT THIS YEAR – so register early! The 34th Annual DGGS Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009, 1:30pm, at the Cowboy's Golf Club, in Grapevine, Texas. This popular event raised over $10,000 last year for the scholarship funds of the DGGS. We will play only an afternoon flight this year so register early to secure one of the spots in the tournament. The Cowboy Golf Club is one of the top-rated resort golf courses in America and is the world’s first NFL-themed golf course. It is conveniently located at the north end of DFW Airport. AMENDED 3/15/2004 AMENDED 6/2/2009 ARTICLE I – Name The name of the Corporation is the Dallas Geophysical Society, Inc., but is hereinafter called the Society. The Society is the only incorporated Dallas section of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. ARTICLE II – Objective The objective of the Society is to promote the science of geophysics and to promote fellowship and cooperation among those persons interested in geophysical problems. ARTICLE III – Membership and Dues 1. Membership There are four classes of membership: Active, Honorary, Emeritus, and Student. A. Active Membership All members who are in good standing on the date of ratification of these Bylaws and who are not Honorary Life Members or Student Members will be designated as Active Members. Any person interested in the science of Geophysics may apply for Active Membership.
